Edge Of Fate is the single WORST update this game has had in years.

Edge Of Fate brought with it many changes and new features. Some of these are actually good changes in my opinion (like the new stats no longer affecting our maximum health, our recovery, or our mobility like the old stats) But at the same time as making some good changes this DLC has made A LOT of REALLY BAD changes. So I'm making this post to talk about all of the things that I think are good and all of the things that I think are bad about this new update. Let's start off with the good since there's a lot more bad than good with this new update. In my opinion I think the stat changes are actually quite good. Obviously the loot grind is a whole different issue, but when it comes to the actual stats I think the new stat system is far superior and a million times better than what we used to have without a doubt. Having the ability to now fully customize my stats to make my build work the way I want it to without having to worry about having to focus on stuff like resilience and recovery like I used to have to do is absolutely FANTASTIC! The new ammo generation system as well is FAR SUPERIOR and a million times better than the old ammo system (which was completely RNG) and it's definitely one of the best changes Bungie has ever made. Well that wraps up the good, now onto the bad. Boy did Bungie ever make A LOT of horrible terrible awful changes to this game in this update... Let's start with the new portal, the new portal honestly feels like something pulled straight out of an alpha build and slapped into the full game without ever undergoing any changes or fixes to polish it and make it good before it was added. Who in their right mind approved the portal in its current form? Because whoever did that should be fired. The portal is the single most disappointing thing in this new update because it clearly has A LOT of potential to be really good, but no one actually put in the time or the effort to make it actually good before adding it to the game. The new solo ops are okay, but the fireteam ops are where Bungie really messed up. Not only did they remove 90% of the fireteam matchmaking activities we had access to before this update, but they also removed matchmaking entirely from everything EXCEPT FOR THE QUICK PLAY PLAYLIST! WHY??? Why would you remove matchmaking from fireteam activities??? Who thought this was a good idea? This is the single dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life! Nightfalls (which have been in the game since D1) are gone now along with all of the nightfall exclusive weapons. Like, who the actual fudge thought this would be a good idea? 🤦‍♂️ There was nothing wrong with strikes, and nightfall strikes were perfect! And now without them the game feels empty and hollow... We also lost one of my favorite new activities onslaught which has now been moved into the fireteam ops and had its matchmaking removed for no reason and all of its exclusive farmable weapons removed and shoved into Xurs already overfull loot pool. I just don't understand how any of this trash got approved... There are several other PVE activities that were all perfectly fine before this update and have either been killed or completely removed in this update. I just don't understand why Bungie would remove all of that already really good content when there was nothing wrong with it and we all liked it and enjoyed it how it was! This update feels like when they removed Red War, Curse Of Osiris, & Warmind from the game. Bungie how the actual heck did you not learn from your mistakes! Anyways continuing on, engrams have also been removed so now players have no actual reason to play the older activities because why bother when all you need to focus older weapons now is some glimmer & enhancement cores. Oh yeah also we can no longer focus any of the nightfall weapons, competitive weapons, or Trials Of Osiris weapons because again they've all been removed and shoved into Xurs already way overfull loot pool. I just don't understand how Bungie thought players would like any of these changes... The new loot tier system is complete garbage (especially for the armor). Like, it's nice that I have a guaranteed way to get the better higher stat armor, but I have no way of actually farming this armor because you can only farm a couple of drops per week for each character! Oh yeah also we can't artifice any of the new legendary or exotic armor, so that's another massive L. Oh and the awesome new Pathfinder system I really liked that they just added in the last update, also gone now... I also don't like the new stat focusing junk either, I preferred the old system where I had armor drop with stats in all 6 columns and not only 3 of the 6 different columns like this new system. Not to mention the armor focusing mods for the ghost just don't work at all right now so they're completely useless as well. This whole update feels like Bungie made 1 step forwards, but then took two steps back... Bungie here's how you fix this, add back everything you removed in this update and then instead of removing the older stuff in order to replace it with the new stuff instead make the old stuff compatible with the new stuff and add the old stuff to the new stuff. There was no reason for you to remove and take away so many good things we had before this update in order to replace it all with the trash that is currently in the game. So add back everything you removed (with matchmaking too for all the stuff that had matchmaking before this update) and make it all compatible with the new stuff and then go from there.
