Coming from 8k hours logged play time; I've put in grind before, I've played through the droughts, I've found things to enjoy beyond normal gameplay (trio raids, sparrow tech, etc)... But this? The power grind might be what breaks me.
The power grind is hopelessly irrelevant. It was tolerable before, but this iteration is by far the worst. It doesn't matter that we can "grind what you want for as long as you want" when the grind is soulless, arbitrary, and completely meaningless as we are just power capped anyway.
Gating the best that the game has to offer behind a forced and meaningless time investment does not inspire joy. Oh, and then enforcing a power delta once you get there completely invalidating the arbitrary number. Make it make sense Bungie, because it hasn't for years now. Just hard commit to curated difficulty (hidden power deltas) and get rid of the useless number already. That's how the majority of the game already plays anyway. If it must stay, reduce the barriers to enjoying your game by jacking up the rate we can power level through ALL power bands.
Side note: the removal/lack of raid and dungeon content as part of the power grind is honestly the most insulting part of this change. And no, adding single encounters to the portal will not alleviate this issue.
Bungie, I'm not asking for change tomorrow. I only ask that you reconsider the power system internally and addresses the overwhelming concern. Your community is not stoked and you do not have the luxury to sit on your hands to wait and see how the dust settles. The community will continue to hemorrhage if communication lags.

Edited by DamoclesLore: 7/28/2025 11:57:47 PMYeah, I actually like grinding, but this type of grinding is just mind-numbingly slow. I mean, if bungie could increase the drops from what it currently is then I would definitely be more eager to sit 12 hours of rehashing Groundhog Day missions. The leveling is just too grueling to be justified for the drop system bungie currently has in place. And then, several grey hairs later, when/if I reach near 400 level, the best high tiered drop chance is even less than it was before?? And come next episode, I have to start grinding from 200 again??? I mean. It’s daunting. My brother, who’s disabled and wheelchair bound, is even more frustrated than I am with this perpetual grind!!! That’s saying something. I love this game so much. Use to be (hopefully will still be?) one of my favorite reprieves from my stressful life as a nurse. I know bungie still needs to iron things out, but please, I hope to make it out of Bill Murray’s groundhog nightmare to an exciting Destiny future. Not giving up, just hoping for some meaningful change.
