I have no idea how you expect people to do this twice a year. Either one of two things should happen here.
The first option is simple. Make the gains bigger. 10 to 15 jumps in power all the way up to max. Doing pinnacle ops hundreds of times is tedious and absolutely boring.
The second option is to kill the grind in 6 months. Let all the gear from the current year have all the bonuses and gear power with no reset until next expansion.

Edit: For those saying "you have 6 months." No we don't. The power resets in 6 months. So the longer I take to get to max power the more I will be punished for waiting. If I hit max a week before the reset I'm back to 0 and little t5s to show for it. THIS is the problem with the system itself. It actively punishes those who wait or play casually. If power sharing was enabled for loot. Then I could still raid and play the game super chill. I could just team up with players that want to grind everytime. But they hate that idea it seems.

Yea the power grind is really bad. I went from 200 to 250 in 24+ hours and that's with playing for about 18 hours. And having to run the same things over and over again gets boring really fast, just to be able to increase my power level to do the same activities as i was doing before. The whole system is insanely slow and badly organized. Not only that but I'll have do it again next season... if i decide to come back to this game, and as of right now it's making me wanna stop playing it completely because it's not even worth the grind.

I just want them to remove the power grind entirely. It's such an archaic system at this point in the games life, especially with how this current team wants to implement power deltas in all the end game/aspirational content. It's still perfectly fine to have the gear tiers locked behind the difficulties. We want to farm, not grind power levels that literally means nothing.

And what’s wild is that actual power level doesn’t mean crap cause you’re constantly capped -20 or -50 for the activity. They couldn’t pay me to make this make sense.

In the absence of new post-campaign content, the grind is all there is. Bungie should be embarrassed.

I was going to make a post with Divide’s video. Glad I saw yours first. I’m glad that I am being proved right to all those Bungie glazers about the power grind, although sad about the state of the game I’ll just add the I am enjoying the story, not quite finished yet, as I’m taking it slow. However I absolutely hate Kepler. It’s like a rabbit warren. Everything in each area looks the -blam!--ing same. It has been designed to waste time and frustrate players. Given what Divide has pointed out about the power grind, the removal of so much of the old game and the 6 monthly reset, once I’ve got my three characters up to 200 and played the campaign on all three I’m done with this game till they change it all back. Bungie have killed raids and dungeons, with the increased power delta and I’m sick of them going back on what they say. Quite frankly snake oil salesmen are more honest. Come on Sony, sort ‘em out.

Edited by Joulevette12: 7/24/2025 7:59:25 AMIDK why they didn't just allow powerful armor and weapons just drop outside of portal giving the players choices to play how they want because at the end of the day we are going to have to go into the portal to farm the new armor and weapons anyway but farming the way it is now to level up our armor just boring and going to cause players to burn themselves out playing the same activities over and over. Ik players want Tier 5 armor but at this rate I players would just be happy to get to Tier 3-4 loot and IMO I think once you over the threshold to get 2-4 tier armor and weapons the previous tier items should not be dropped at all period.

The power grind is estimated to be 90hr to hit max. This season is 6 months long. You can play 1 hour per day, hit max level and still have 3 more months. This is one of the most casual grind systems they've ever implemented. You can target farm pieces to optimize gains as well which helps cut down on wasted crap. It just seems worse because it takes longer to hit max but you have literally half a year to get there

Take a break man. You have all 3 characters well over 200 and it’s 9 days in. Lol I’d be sick of it too and I like most of the changes.

I think its actually 4 times a year, doesn't it reset with the seasonal content drop? Then we have another expansion and another seasonal drop.
