Uninstalling Destiny 2 just like during Curse of Osiris.

To preface I am (well was now) Guardian Rank 11, solo flawless on every dungeon, and have 41 titles including raid titles/eternal/godslayer. Played Crota D1 through D2 Curse of Osiris, took a 5 year break then came back for season of the seraph. I am not saying these things to brag (cause I know a lot of you guys are way better than me!), I'm just giving a glimpse into the time and care I put into this game. This post comes out of love I promise. ------------ I have given Bungie every single chance imaginable within the last couple years when I got back into the game with season of the Seraph. I pushed it out through the lows and very much enjoyed the highs. I have tried to justify their decisions to my friends time and time again. But I am at my breaking point after what I just experienced tonight. To start, I have not been enjoying the Edge of Fate. Matterspark/Relocater/The Other one I can't even remember the name of cause it meant so little to me are not fun mechanics. They just make you needlessly back track through rooms and waste your time. The story was pretty good IMO, but the gameplay just ruined it for me. I have no motivation to do the exotic quest or any of the extra activities scattered around Kepler. This is just a matter of opinion of course and is not my biggest issue. Sometimes a DLC just ain't my thing and that's all good. ----------- The Portal can be fun I admit, but it should not be the sole focus of the game. Not in the slightest. Also congratulations Bungie on somehow making the new player experience even WORSE. Telling new lights that the guardian ranks are the best guide as to what you should do next, meanwhile the portal just throws you into meaningless missions that somehow tell you nothing about the game yet spoil points about the new campaign at the same time. -------------- Removing Guardian Ranks and forcing veterans to earn their way back up through the system would have been completely fine if doing very specific activities in the portal wasn't how you mainly progressed. I have no motivation to go through these missions again and again with different modifiers trying to earn my number back that I did nothing to lose. ------------- The new armor system is whatever. Just new stats that I'm sure we're gonna find out you need ones maxed (health and weapons) and some you can just drop because our builds will recharge our abilities anyway. ----------- I don't know guys. I thought Destiny was fun the way it was. I don't know who was asking for these changes. Anyways let me bring you to tonight... How did you guys not learn your lesson? You've already tried raising the power delta for normal mode raids and dungeons. The community said no and you rightfully listened and reverted it. But now this is back? Why? Tonight I just wanted a fun normal mode Vesper's run with my friends. Using the exact same loadouts and strategies we normally would for a 45 minute run with 2 phase boss ended us up with a 1 hour and 20 minute run and 5 damage phase boss. I cannot imagine what going through this as a new player would have been like. After giving up on grinding for the new guardian rank and light cap all I wanted was to still log on and have dungeon and raid nights but that is gone as well. This was the straw that broke the camels back. I have uninstalled Destiny 2 and all it will take for me to return is to have my fun dungeons and raids back. Bungie please. If you want there to be harder dungeons and raids just add a new difficulty that is a little harder and let us have our normal fun time activities. Until then guardians if you still choose to play Destiny 2 and have a good time then I am very happy for you and I hope you're able to make many more happy memories with your friends!

  • To answer your question of who was this expansion made for, the answer is quite simple. Streamers! This is what they have been asking for! Everything harder, power grind, nerfed abilities, more puzzles, typical elitist BS, etc. Bungie continues to listen to these idiots and the game keeps suffering for the vast majority of the community.

Curse of Osiris was way better than Kepler. We had more strikes, more loot, and it's was not such a grind to reach max power level like in the latest DLC. Leviathan Eater of Worlds raid lair Argos was fun in my opinion when it first came out. Story wise it was terrible compared to the story of Edge of Fate but it had more to offer than the DLC we have now.

    • Good luck! I may not be uninstalling but I don't think I will be playing much for awhile either. I am very disheartened as well. There are plenty of other games for me to play and even D1 sounds better than this. Plus, projects that require some attention that don't involve gaming.

      •
add a new difficulty that is a little harder and let us have our normal fun
"Normal" now doesn't reward anything, so it would be just for fun. I agree being under level isn't fun.

      • 5 years is not a break that’s a prison sentence. Why would you even come back to something after that long

        • Curse was a worse campaign and still had static rolls. Yet I know I will play Kepler WAY less than Osiris

        • I've been playing since D1 beta and I'm at the point where I feel like I'm ready to take a long break. I've actually taken a few 1-2 year long breaks during D2's lifespan and that has helped to avoid burnout. I'm giving the new changes a chance, but it just feels like they gutted the soul/core of the game and it's not a game I recognize anymore. It's been getting steadily worse since TFS which in hindsight, should have been my jump off point, but I foolishly bought the pass for the entire year afterward so I forced myself to keep going to "get my money's worth." At this point I'd much rather see a full blown remaster/update of D1 on a newer engine or try Destiny Rising. I feel like if they wanted to make such drastic system changes, they should have just started over with D3 with a whole new suite of weapons and armor, had less emphasis on all the good looking gear only being available through EV cosmetics, etc.

        • That 5-year break you took is likely why you aren't broken, burnt, and tired of how stale and predictable Destiny was for like 6 years straight. The game needed to change. I'm not saying that what we got is perfect but it couldn't continue the way it was. There's stuff I don't like but I'm going to give it a fair shake. This kind of change would have been fine (preferable even) alongside a new title with new title things to do but they didn't have that option.
