As someone with 5k hours, what’s the point of continuing to play your game?
No more seasonal crafting.
Terrible RNG rate.
Cheating in every game mode.
Terrible PVP experience.
Recycled content every season.
EoF is recycled content.
Nerfs on top of nerfs.
No player engagement.
No fire teams to play raids.
Honestly why are you continuing this hamster wheel.

3 RepliesI hate when I'm playing "new" content and suddenly realize why things look familiar. It's a map section from D1 - again! No paying for used content any more. Bungle has shown that they don't want solos or older players and I'm both. Not buying Edge of Fart.

I hear you brother. I had patience several times, but EoF Is the straw that breaks the camel's back. Literally nothing in this update looks promising. It is so bad how people are even remotely ok with this is beyond me. I told this to myself the other day: If Bungie makes me go through the power level grind for the same items one more time or take away stuff I earned I am done. And here we go. I will quit come next week. I am wrapping up as we speak enhance the last 4 guns and leave my vault behind in order. 5k+ hours since 2014 as well. And to tell you the truth. If I were to comply with this sit there like an idiot and grind grind grind just to be reset every 6 months I would at this point question myself? What an unmitigated disaster this is. Is it sad because I love the game and it still has every potential in the world. Yes it is. But not like this. I quit earlier in 2017 for 2 years and it was a quick detox. It will be like that again. Take care

I decided don't bother about status of the armor and weapon. I will become a casual player and play the basics. No more FOMO, no more axiety, just a simple play for fun. Thanks, Bungie. You win.

3 Replies5k hours and you can’t bother to read a twid or solo a dungeon. pvp players are something else man. i’ll be playing for the building crafting with the new armor system. i’ll be playing because there’s an actual grind now via the portal. i’ll be playing because i don’t care that bungie doesn’t show me the complete story start to finish to try and convince me to buy it. no one’s even played the f ing dlc yet but so many casuals have these wild opinions. watch your mental health, if you’re only playing to get that serotonin hit from completing a seasonal red border you should be pretty concerned. claiming recycled content because they show you that old activities will be relevant in the new system is beyond brain dead from someone that prob complained when they REMOVED old content. also double 100s in 2025? call of duty is calling your name brother.

8 RepliesThe game isn't fun, and I don't see how the changes they're making will make it fun. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. Just find other stuff to do. Another game, learn to paint, visit a state park.... If the game isn't giving you energy, then find something that does give you energy. That's the way of a happy life!

4 RepliesDestiny is anti-fun now. They turned the game to a checklist grind with complex puzzles to give streamers content. I don't understand. No other live service game has to do this.

I came to that conclusion start of this year . I got my 11 years worth. Nothing lasts forever , there is no one left at bungie so not bungie anymore !

6 RepliesI can’t wait to grind up to 400 over the next 6 months just so Tier 5’s consistently drop near the end of the season and then they get nerfed immediately after. That’s literally the new system they’re selling us 😂

Exactly !! But you forgot the Star Wars sell out and giving away freebies to casuals to keep numbers up. I have 9k hours, previously bought everything up until last season, and won't be spending another cent on this. Ripped off !! -

The last time I remember truly enjoying PvP was 30th anniversary. Too much recycled content, reskinned guns, currency is harder to get, game just feels like they’re trying so hard to keep you on a hamster wheel now. All of the PvP matchmaking changes are awful. Comp is miserable. Feels like you’re stuck in a bracket they want to keep you in. I used to grind my way to 5500. It took a while, but I did it. In the new system I got stuck around platinum 1. This season for whatever reason, I’m stuck between gold 3 and 2. No idea why, the games just feel way harder and even on games I feel I did well, I barely get points. So, I dunno. Plus I had to nuke a ton of my vault in anticipation for this new expansion, that I’m not even sure how much I’ll play. I’m playing significantly less, and I’m sure quitting is in the near future. This studio is so hyper focused on pushing out art raiders. I mean marathon. That game is gonna flop, and this studio will eventually collapse. That’s my guess, but who knows Destiny just doesn’t feel like it’s in the hands of people that care about it anymore.

5 RepliesThere will always be some kind of a market for this game because the gunplay is so good. There may be less content and ridiculous ideas but as long as something is new and there's some kind of reason to jump into the game I think there will always be a market there... I tried leaving a few times as well - fed up with the dev decisions, etc but the game itself kept bringing me back - it's one of the few classic games that is just fun to knock around in.... Just play until you've had enough and then put it down when the grind becomes too much...

4 RepliesI don't know how much time I've spent on Destiny... I know I was over 2000 in the first game... I now wonder how much time I've just watched my ship in orbit? And, perhaps that's why I bought a year of prophecy... Do they have anything left? Can it be fun? Can it be more than what it's become? I was really turned-off by the star wars sellout. Two small campaigns rather than the tentpole... And, the second one of these is a licencing deal? That don't sound good. Ideally tho, Bungie shouldn't be making destiny for me... any longer. I'm 58. They should be onboarding newer, younger, minds. Destiny skews older. I am now ready to say goodbye to destiny. That's what I expect this year to be. I would really love to be surprised. Either way, independent of EoF, I am looking forward to saying so long to Bungie. As a customer, I do not like how I have been treated by this business. I have a distaste for the brand that has been truly earned. Over these last eleven years I actually believe I loathe the corporate entity. Familiarity breeds contempt- I think they say. Destiny should never be on the brink of banality. If it goes though-- it better take Bungie with it ! Because that Fate has been para causally sealed.

Every current and coming change is the opposite of what made the game the most fun it ever was for me during the WQ-TFS era. The only positive is the armor changes because armor needed something, and even then the lack of every combo for the archetype system is a bit disappointing. They’re going from facilitating build crafting by way of a steady stream of new things for subs and even new subclasses, and bad luck protection(crafting) for new weapons which provided on demand weapon experimentation….back to rigid RNG, number go up grind just for the sake of it, and a cycle of temporary with destination gimmick abilities. Which is just not interesting or compelling at all. It feels like they’ve given up.

2 RepliesYou should answer that question yourself. Bungie has had problems since the release of Destiny 2. Those can be seen in the quantity and quality of their work. Be it one of those cancelled, on-hold IPs or Destiny 2. What you describe is correct. But people tolerated or ignored it for a long time. And that kept them (Bungie) going. "Lightfall" put an end to this cycle, even if "The Final Shape" was a success. But just a relative one. The damage was done. Now, Bungie has even more problems. And those will be even bigger if "Edge of Fate" fails. There's no "hype" regarding the upcoming DLC. One can see that. I see this in responses, all of them mixed, by friends I meet through this game. One's looking forward to it; others declined it, and some just bought the standard version. There's no clear direction. Personally, I already would have pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition (like so many times before). Even if I didn't like that much (episode) Revenant and Heresy. But what's coming now, this "mountain" of alterations, is simply too much. Starting already before, with the reduction of weapon crafting, the expiration of items on a six-month basis, and the increased grind. And that's just the top of it. I'm not even sorry anymore. It would be a perfect opportunity to stop with the game. However, let's see how this goes from a week on.
