Bungie will not tell you why you were banned, and responses are not guaranteed. In most cases you will not get a response unless they need more information or they have accepted the appeal. If 4-6 weeks go by without the ban being lifted or any responses from Bungie, you can safely assume your appeal was denied. Something from years ago can still get a ban issued today for it.
