Helping Newbs get a better expericne

Yes! A system to help new players is good!

No! Let the new guys suffer confusion and mayhem!

There is a good response from a post I put out about helping newbs. Experienced players should help other newer players, as the learning curve is quite high and rather unfriendly towards newer players. Just because it might be easy for you, just because you see something a certain way, doesn't mean others do. That said, a system where if you can pull a new player through their first nightfall, GM, Campaign, exotic mission (like xenophage, god, I do not know how many people I got through that one), been a raid when they are a bit more leveled up or anything that takes a team and thus you would get an emblem or even better - an exotic weapon that isn't useless, would really change why so many players play the free game and never come back to play it or pay for more. So the question for the poll, "should Destiny have a program to pair experienced players with newbs and offer a reward system to show the community what 'getting it done' really means?

Ask and you shall receive. That’s how life works if you don’t speak up you can’t be mad. Make a post asking for help. Send a message asking for help. Turn your mic on and ask for help. I accidentally had my fireteam set to public one day. I’m in the tower and some random guardian joins. It was a little kid and they asked if I could help finish a mission they were stuck on. So we beat the mission. Just gotta speak up and ask sometimes. I’m all for a system to help. But I don’t think it’s necessary considering the time that could be spent improving the game other ways.

    • This, a thousand times over. I'm all for Bungie implementing something to reward or add incentives to helping new players, BUT I've seen it over and over again- there're plenty of people who want/need help, get it, then leave. Zero sense of community. When I hit the solo player wall in D1 and wanted more, it pushed me out of my comfort zone and into playing with other players, learning about LFG, etc. It cemented me as a fan and I stuck around for many years. New players just seem to want their hands held, then leave without giving anything back. I don't want to help those people. I want to see them bounce off the game like they are inevitably going to anyways. There's got to be some personal investment, some effort shown on their part, otherwise what's the point?
