IMO Wait until the dust settles to purchase Edge of Fate

This is my opinion. Over delivery guy at the helm will make me hit the pause button for the next season. I I feel they really messed up their game with the new changes. They are making all the weapons you love not as useful in the next expansion. I feel this is a huge mistake. This will have a negative effect and will push players away from this season. I do not understand why Bungie continues to push the boundaries in a negative way.

  •
I do not understand why Bungie continues to push the boundaries in a negative way.
I honestly do not think they are doing it on purpose. It seems to me that the majority of the workforce are no longer there, and the people working on the tail end of Destiny haven't got a clue about the original game. It's like a workforce of construction workers trying to run a hospital when all the doctors, nurses and surgeons have left.

  • The over reliance on "pre-orders" has always been a bad thing the content should speak for itself imagine how much more content we would get if they stop wasting money on pointless advertising and focus on the game quality over flashy PR stunts...

    • You prefer to play with the same old weapons and armor forever? It's a looter shooter. The point is to chase new better stuff.

Won't Edge of Fate armor be obsolete by the time Renegades comes out? You won't be able to buildcraft with EoF armor perks in Renegades without a 15% damage penalty This discussion is from Reddit, and that's all that bothers me. For me, what they outlined yesterday in the developer stream, especially the new location in the form of Metroidvania and some other supplements too, sounds interesting. I like some of the new weapons too; they really look like 'Destiny.' I also can imagine obtaining new sets for my three classes at once. But doing this permanently isn't that exciting, not for me. I really wish the developers would be more precise on that. However, this isn't 'make a wish,' and I'm not an external advisor. But as someone who has played this game since the beginning on PC, I want to express myself. To be honest, I planned to end it after the last episode of The Final Shape. I didn't play for the last four months, and I also wasn't here at this time. What I can say about being back is that nothing changed; it's the same Rock 'n' Roll as ever, from the customer and developer sides. No offense, but one should be aware that Bungie has lost a lot. And that they have to go forward with that loss. Which will be different, especially with content. Edit: Text correction

      • According to sciencedirect.com:
'Dust is generated primarily by three mechanisms: 1) free fall, 2) forced elevation from one level to another, and 3) attrition.
I'm seeing a lot of 1 and 3, but not a lot of 2.

      • Should of started a destiny 3 and left destiny 2 alone. Instead of sunsetting our old weapons and making the useless. Silly by Bungie I will wait and see this is my first DLC not pre ordered so if its good and players like it I will get it if its anything like the rite of the nine I will pass they messed that up big time.

      •
They are making all the weapons you love not as useful in the next expansion.
I doubt that. Because it would be completely counterproductive. What bothers me is that they want you to obtain new armor every six months. But honestly, I can't imagine that will be mandatory too, except, maybe, for very specific content. However, just wait a little until after the release to see how this is going. That's what I do. I like what I've seen so far, except for what I know about the armor reset on a six-month basis.

        • With the complete overhaul of the game mechanics (should have been a completely new entry like Destiny 2.5 or 3) I am going to try things out before committing. If things are far too removed from what I enjoy about D2 or just aren't within my play capabilities then I can just finish up the things I'm currently doing before moving on.

        • If you’re uncomfortable with the direction the franchise seems to be going, don’t have confidence in the new leadership and/or studio, don’t like the changes and sunsetting coming, not very interested in the new story, or have just been not feeling Destiny lately - just hold off or cancel your pre order until EoF has been out for a few weeks and you can read reviews and see how the new leadership is treating the game and the community. You don’t owe Bungie anything. Don’t feel pressured to pre-order if you’re uncomfortable. Everything EoF has to offer will still be there a month after 07/15 and the LFG sites and Sherpa forums will still be jammed up with people looking to play with you.

There will need to be a hell of a lot of dust settle before I give them any more of my money. Besides it being a total disrespect of my thousands of hours grinding God Roll weapons and armour, there is nothing exciting or new..

In my opinion this DLC is not for me. Nothing I’ve seen in this livestream has changed my mind. Since I’ve already cancelled my preorder, I’m going to wait and see. I would imagine, with this much change in the game, it’s going to be an utter clusterf**k anyway if the implementation of any of the previous DLC’s or episode launches are anything to go by. That’s even if I was hyped for any of what I’ve seen. Which I’m most certainly not.

            • IMO let people decide for themselves instead of telling them "don't buy", "don't pre-order", yaddayadda. Most of us are grown adults capable of making their own decisions.

              • All of your gear will be viable in any content invite new DLC. If you don’t want to grind new loot in a looter then don’t and use what you have. I want new armor but it will take me a while to acquire it and try different combinations to see what I like.

                • Since all that has been shown from the actual 'expansion' are system changes; Weapons, Armour, Power level etc., etc. It is likely better to not buy in on day one. Everybody gets the system changes, regardless of if they buy EOF or not. If you can't get on board with the new system changes, is it worth throwing any more money at it?

                • Most players will only need T3 or T4 which is what we have now T5 is the try hard gear all they did was add more to the upper level of the loot system...I think people are hung up over the new gear classifications and not the functional similarities...
