Help the new guys
Why is it you can't go to the tower and message anyone not on your friends list? I was thinking, "You know, I am quite capable of pulling a low-level through their first GM." But I can't message anybody and ask them if they'd like a GM...
Might I suggest you fix that.
Being a newb sucks. There is quite a high learning curb and there should be a triumph for an emblem or something that you can help newbs lvl2 or higher (1's are still learning how to move...so lts go past that part shall we...)..I'd be interested...

This would be great, maybe if they added a “looking for help” or “offering help” section to the lfg I think that would help a lot. Also as far as messaging randoms in the tower, I think if you tab to local chat it will show up for everyone, no guarantees that everyone will see and/or respond to it though.

Whether they receive the message is based on their social settings.

1 ReplyYou can? you can use text chat to whisper people not on your friend list but they could have whispers disabled/set to friends only/chat disabled etc so they wouldn't see/receive it. You also need to make sure you haven't got your settings set to friends/clan etc only.

You can ... I "yell out" random crap in the tower all the time. If you're not able to text anyone except your friends, it might be your own settings thats stopping you. Otherwise, just load into the tower, open up your chat, type the message & then cycle thru the different channels/colors before hitting "send". Green messages appear to your fireteam Yellow messages appear to your entire clan Pink is a private whisper to a single person Dark Orange messages appear to the "local" area, so to the whole tower (if you're in the tower) or to the Camdus Ridge (if you're on Europa) etc etc.

That is exactly what happened to me way back at the start in D1 , and random guy messaged me at the tower asking if I wanted to do the vault of glass , it was a great experience completed my first raid even got mida multi tool from the secret chest . This would be a great addition to D2 Its what basically started me in this 10 year journey Great post 👍👍
