I think making this game like other live service games is a mistake.

I truly think that making this game similar to other live service games instead of continuing to separate itself from them is a mistake. It seemed like the majority of the community(and Bungie) kind of agreed that temporary was bad. And yet we’re about to enter the era of temporary. Use temporary destination gimmick abilities while earning new gear with temporary buffs that you upgrade with a temporary resource to increase your new temporary power level. Repeat every content drop. And this is all fresh on the heels of the loss of meaningful bad luck protection that came with Revenant. I also truly believe that instead of being burned to the ground, crafting should have been balanced and expanded on in meaningful ways that make it fun and rewarding. That’s the feedback. This new direction for the game is a hard pass and it wasn’t even a hard decision. Even if it wasn’t a pass for me, the lack of interest for this new direction among my friends/clan is staggering.

They've been doing this since sunsetting in some form and is ultimately what drove me away paired with the poor general direction and mismanagement of everything. I left in Lightfall and was already thinking about leaving the game in Season 15 because it really did hit me of, "Im going to lose all this fun content again." And then what followed in Seasons 16, 17 and 18 to replace what was removed sucked. Witch Queen was great, everything else? Yea no. On top of core playlists only being ignored with the game falling apart at the seams every single day. Get to season 19, good sandbox adjustments, great season. Except the game was unplayable for literally 25% of the season because of server errors and game breaking bugs that made things physically unplayable. Exotics being disabled every single week. Activities being forced out of rotation so can't grind for something. Constantly being disconnected. Or just outright can't log on because the game was offline. Lightfall releases, lose Season 19, get a crap DLC in every regard, crap season, crap sandbox and just crap everything pretty much. And again, the connection issues and game stability were awful. And I'm glad I quit because while Final Shape wasn't bad just on its own, as an ending to the saga after a horrible first part, aka Lightfall, its horrible. They've only continued to push sub par to just outright bad content with no regard for the health of the franchise. In fact, pretty much every decision Bungie has made in the past 18 months has been to their detriment as a studio. Destiny is on its way out, Marathon likely wont release now and the studio will probably get carved up by Sony. All because they couldn't listen to their devs and players and got greedy with player's money and time from Witch Queen forward. Honestly, as much as Activision did screw over the original vision of the franchise with what they wanted, the moment they were fully out of the scene everything went to hell. Bungie did a very good job of hiding that they were the problem all along and really just a few specific people the whole time. This was very much a rant but at this point its warranted. I genuinely think everyone should just. Let loose on here and elsewhere, make it clear the disappointment in Bungie as a studio and what they've lost. Because they genuinely have squandered what could have ended up being one of the most successful and longest running franchises in game history had they handled it properly.
