Please do the same with Raids, Bungie!

I'll get right too it, raids should of also been on the floor plan for a tweek for players to get inducted if they're new too it and get a reminder of what needs done if you're a returning player like myself. I get it tho bungie has put loads of work into this dungeon feature and I'm sure for most that would be enough...sadly the only dungeons I actually want to do bungie has so kindly placed behind a paywall. The gear I want is pretty much only in a single one of them. The gear isnt bad but itz nothing like the gear that put in raids and really the only issue with them is the absurd number of people that need to all be on the same page with less of us using headsets or mic to speak to one another I think the raids could of also used this make over and hopefully that is some we can look forward to. Simplify the mechanics and give a more in depth explanation of what actions need to take place. I doubt I'm the only player that's also wishing for this because I dont want to trouble those that know what they're doing with my inexperience it would be great to take a raid at my own pace and even complete one with just my 2 other buddies but hey if you agree that the raids are long overdue for this then please comment your ideas maybe someone will see this and give it some thought :) thanks for taking the time to read this

  • Agree bungie should do the Explorer mode for raids ,quite a few players have asked for this for years including myself ,but certain accounts will always downvote the idea mainly : .Streamers .sherpas and paid sherpas .streamers that make tutorial vids .the weird ones that don't want you to have the same gun as them lol Tbh bungie has had no excuse for years not to do something like this for every raid once contest mode is over 😤

  • I'm assuming you are referring to the dungeon explorer mode. Yes, explorer mode is very nice to have, but it's not a perfect solution. Yes, it allows you to learn a dungeons mechanics without the worry of wiping. Also, it gives the player somewhat of a path to follow, it does not tell you exactly where to go, which is why it's called explorer mode (your supposed to explore/learn). It does all this while keeping the unique features and identity of the dungeon intact. Ok, so what are the flaws of explorer mode? You might ask. The only real activity-based issue is, Bungie needs to have a better way of using the info screens to guide players. Having to read a description of a mechanic while being shot to death is not fun. The real problem with explorer mode has nothing to do with the mode itself, it has to do with the players in the activity. You can't force someone to learn they have to want to learn, and a lot of players don't want to learn. They just want free loot and that's it. The week that Ghosts of the Deep was the explorer mode for ROT9 was a disaster in matchmaking sometimes. I would get players who wouldn't even try to do the mechanics. They wouldn't even try. Quite a few times I'd end up basically soloing Simmuhma (or whatever his name is) because my teammates wouldn't even attempt to do the mechanics. This is the problem with random matchmaking, it's random, you don't get to pick who your teammates are. Now put this into a raid scenario (with six random players, who don't know what they are doing) this would be a disaster. Even in Vault of Glass (the easiest raid in the game) bungie would have to dumb the mechanics down so much that it wouldn't even be a raid anymore. Even an Explorer mode VOG wouldn't work, now imagine this in any other raid, the problem would be even worse. Imagine an Explorer Salvations Edge, yeah not gonna work. People wouldn't even make it past oracles in an explorer mode VOG. Remember the oracles have to be shot in a certain order within a short period of time. Imagine trying to do this with randoms who don't know what they are doing, yeeeaaah I don't think so. Now you may say, "well just make it so you can shoot them in any order during explorer mode". Ok, but that doesn't teach anything because that's not how you do the mechanic. In fact, that's teaching the player to do it wrong, so that's even worse. My point is explorer mode is great for dungeons; I hope it becomes a thing for all current and future dungeons at some point. Explorer raids are a no-no, unless they have no matchmaking.
