Hello - I've been playing Destiny, on a PlayStation, and I wanted to link it to a Bungie account, so I could use Destiny Item Manager - but after I started playing Destiny, I wanted to play Destiny 2 also - but my username on Destiny 2, is different to what it is in Destiny!
Destiny is using my PlayStation username, "zoruatherian", and this is what I want. but this Bungie account is just called "zorua", and there is no way to unlink them! My account has no name changes either as this is linked to a Steam account that has played before. Is there some way I could force my Playstation account, which has not began playing Destiny 2, but just gotten to the log-in stage, where it tells me the incorrect username, to let me use a different Bungie account instead?
Or, failing that, some way to force this PlayStation account that I do not want to be on this Bungie account, to unlink?
I'd really like just to emphasise that I have not played Destiny 2 using this PlayStation account, I just wanted to access Destiny Item Manager for Destiny, where the name did not change and I did not realise it would in the second game.
Please help me, I did not realise that linking to Bungie would change my username in Destiny 2, when it does not do that in Destiny 1 - I would greatly appreciate any help!!

Hello, Bungie removed the ability to unlink accounts back in March of 2025. Read their official statement here.
