Seeing any corporation present a sell on their product will be chock full of lies 99% of the tine. I’m sure they will adjust it at one point but honestly I think they do it on purpose to illicit the outrage and give people the illusion of the win.

Oh, no, no, no, they weren't [u]lying[/u] - the community just misunderstood... [u]all[/u] of them... That's the route they're taking now - the community apparently read the wrong thing into that statement. I mean, you couldn't just make a clear and concise statement that just meant what it said, could you... that would just be 'overdelivery'...

While dangling good "First impressions" in front of you while sneaking in....on a rolling basis at the end of their sentence.

8 RepliesI don’t see how it’s a lie or how y’all didn’t know better. Did you hear them saying rotating? Anything at all about the weekly focus rotating? Considering how often the word “rotation” in activities with rotating focus otherwise for years now? Everyone saying it’s misleading seems to forget that when they mean rotating basis they say it. They didn’t. So no one was mislead So this is peolle not paying attention and thinking it’s more of the same.

They don’t lie. They do purposefully state things in an ambiguous manner that leaves it open to misinterpretation. They’ve been doing this since D1. 🙁

It technically means things will happen in succession over time, but not necessarily in a strict order. Bungie never explicitly promised a fixed rotation like “W1: Spire, W2: Ghost, W3: Prophecy So when Spire shows up twice in a row, they can say: "We never said it wouldn’t happen. We just said dungeons would roll" Why it’s very close to being misleading: In most contexts, players interpret “rolling rotation” to mean a consistent and even cycle. Like how Nightfalls, Crucible modes, or seasonal activities rotate weekly. Bungie even said: “one per week on a rolling basis”, which implies a weekly changing cycle. Having Spire show up twice in the first few weeks breaks that expected pattern and creates disappointment

Well Bungie, I can say you have lost a fan and supporter today, the trust is at an all time low, I would have preferred NO event then having my hopes raised only for them to be utterly crushed below where they started

You know full well a lawyer has been hard checking everything Bungie says so we can't FAQ check to call them out as liers.

7 RepliesI farmed spire so hard last week to get everything I needed and to stockpile almost 10k Nonary Manifolds with the intention of farming the living christ out of the dugeon this week.... looks like I'm taking the week off to play another game.

It wasnt an outright lie but its so vague and you would logically assume they mean one per week. "The dungeons will rotate one per week on a rolling basis"... well there is one dungeon in rotation this week and there will be one dungeon in rotation next week. They never said they would actually change weekly. Its semantics and any reasonable person would assume they meant one DIFFERENT dungeon per week, its absurd that this isnt the case. Id wager 95% of the community was expecting ghosts of the deep this week just based on the logic of the wording on the stream. Insane fumble to not make him word it more explicitly or provide any clarification on how the event will be rotating, leaving people in the dark until they log in on tuesday and are disappointed. I mean seriously why was there no communication in the TWID?

They were probably going to do it that way before the bug stopping people from completing the weekly quests for spire I just wish, you know, that they would [i]say[/i] that was the reason why so that we could stop having to speculate about it
