Any chance at a race change option in character modifying?

I would greatly appreciate the option to change my character from an exo to a human, I would create a new character if it didnt mean I had to run through all the seasonal and story quests all over again. So either an option to just change your character race, or an option for cross progressions across your account for story activities and quests.

From the TWID posted January 18th, 2024 (emphasis added):
THE HELMET NO LONGER STAYS ON Let's see if this sounds familiar: You created a very edgy Awoken when you were a teenager. Maybe you chose some regrettable markings on your Human’s face, or you didn’t coordinate the colors of your Exo’s mouth and eyes. Or perhaps your character's body type no longer represents who you are. No matter the reason, you'll be able to change your Guardian’s look when character customization goes live in an update before the release of The Final Shape. To do so, you'll only need to launch Destiny 2 and you'll notice a new option when you hover over a character at the character selection screen. You will be able to modify the appearance of your Guardians anytime, without cost or limit to the number of changes. Just take into consideration that while you can change the body type, face, hair/head, and markings, it won’t be possible to change from one origin to another (i.e., Human, Exo, or Awoken).
When the devs singled out Guardians’ Origins as something that players would be unable to change, the fact that they didn’t even suggest the possibility that the feature would become available at some point in the future implied that when they first explored the idea allowing appearance changes they ran into a fairly substantial issue when trying to swap Origins that they didn’t believe they could realistically fix for whatever reason. If this is the case, they clearly made the decision that rather than scrap the Appearance Change feature altogether they would instead implement what they were able to get to work. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
