Put simply, we don’t care about armour. We don’t need armour, and it’s an instant dismantle on acquisition. Weapons are what we want, and it’s damn irritating when you clear a dungeon, only for the reward to be double armour drops.
My first Sundered Doctrine gave me all armour drops. “Well at least you can transmog now, right?” Wrong. All helmet and legs. 3 legs, 1 helmet.
Even now, I am 19 clears deep and I have gotten a SINGLE hand cannon. Most of my drops have been armour, and nearly all of my boss completions have been double armour drops.
The focusing system has no use if it can only be used for one piece of gear, once per week.

they should have implemented a system years ago that always rewards both an armor and weapon drop from raid and dungeon encounters. There are several reasons they never have and never will, not one of them valid

What if Bungie does a massive overhaul on our armor sets, updating endgame sources to give armor even more stats and some set bonuses? What if we also have our armor pieces completely overhauled with new peak stat values and percentage based cooldown changes instead of break points? What if we also get a rebuild of current stat allocations to fundamentally change their bonuses? And what if we get armor archetypes to help better control the main stat combinations the armor has? Exactly what I keep saying and even going into detail about how we can craft, focus, or reliably target farm EVERYTHING ELSE but dungeon weapons, but such posts keep getting downvoted into oblivion 🙄. The only people grinding for armor are either doing it for transmogs or for artifice armor. NO ONE is grinding for regular armor, but those make up at minimum 80% of our dungeon drops even in encounters where it should be 50/50. Strikes/ nightfalls Crucible/ comp/ iron banner/ trials Gambit Dares of Eternity Onslaught Seasonal/ destination weapons Regular world drops Raids But for some reason, dungeon weapons are the exception and the CLOSEST to a logical counter argument anyone has given me as to why we shouldn't be able to do any of the 3 for them is "if everyone gets the weapon they want, they'll have no reason to keep playing it", but by that logic, no one would be playing the game at all. Funny how the number of people playing dungeons SKYROCKETS when we're ONLY getting weapons, of which most if not all have at least 2-5 god rolls each depending on preference. 🤔

If only there was some reason to care about armor... maybe some kind of perk unique to each armor set... maybe one that activates based on how many pieces of the set you have equipped... 🤔
