I will attempt to make this as short and as much to the point as my brain will let me (surely I won't continue galloping on the keyboard as I type this out, surely)...
I would LOVE a space western expansion and some LIGHT inspiration or easter eggs from Star Wars. The promotion trailer that lasted just a few seconds showed primarily Star Wars-centric content (eg: the blaster and saber, both with their sound effects). This feels too on the nose for how 1:1 their likeness was. No offense to the Bungie employee who made the comment (I understand he was attempting to assuage concerns), but no one is worried over the canon of Destiny; we're worried of Destiny stepping too far into Star Wars and for things that are distinctly Star Wars to become canon to Destiny (like the blaster and saber coming over 1:1 if the trailer is to be taken at face value; I realize what I said is extremely close to what the employee was trying to address but I feel like there is a distinction to be made and I can't quite put it to words).
I do feel like two armor set collabs on top of a heavily themed expansion is what set off the concerns that have been voiced; too much, too fast. If the theming can be walked back at all, I think "Space Western" Destiny would be a wonderful place to go but not at the cost to integrity shown in the trailer. I feel like it can be done well but the line has to be drawn back a bit compared to where it's displayed currently.
