Hi all.
Originally a cod player from cod 1 up to codmw2/codbo1. Stopped gaming from 2012 till 2023. At the end of 2023 I started playing D2 because of my neighbour, so quite a newbie compared to a lot of you. But I got hooked. Love the mechanics, complexity and challenges to figure out the game. I bought the shadowkeep, forsaken, 30th b-day anniversary, the witch queen and beyond light. When the final shape was released I bought it with the annual pass. I spend for around $200 total which is a lot imo for a game, but I enjoyed it a lot.
Then I stopped playing for a good half year and came back about a month ago. I was very surprised how much content has been taken out. It is stuff I payed for. There are weapons that time I didn't like eq fusion/lineair fusion rifles. But only because I didn't understand the use for it as I am used to normal fps shooters. One of my favorites atm is doomed petitioner. I was looking how to get it because the perks are not great on the one I have. Surprisingly I found out the content where you could get the doomed petitioner is gone. I searched longer and was checking the destinations and figured out how much content is vaulted. Isn't that stealing content I bought? What about you buy a car and after a year the car dealer is coming to take off your wheels.... Just a comparison, but you understand.
I didn't buy the seasonal pass because imo I paid enough for a game that is free to play as well. I am also surprised the dungeons are not included. I still enjoy the game but I feel ripped off because of all the content I loved to play from the past is just gone.
Bungie get a grip. Don't take away content people payed for or start refunding money, open dungeons and seasonal activities in return for all the lost content we payed for!

Bungie isn't legally required to refund neither are companies like Epic, EA, Activision etc who all use a similar system. Pretty much every game tells and warns that season passes are only there till the next. Also the game engine can't support the amount of content. It already struggles with what is currently in the game. As for updating the engine it probably wouldn't be worth it since the engine itself is over 20 years old (Modified engine used in CE) and every time they update it even big changes like the Beyond light one it doesn't give the engine the ability to host as much content as has been removed. This means they'd likely need a new engine and to do that would take like 5 years to transfer what is in the game (Not including what's already removed) to the new engine. And Idk if the game could even be kept online during that time and there could be issues like data loss.
