Hi all.
Originally a cod player from cod 1 up to codmw2/codbo1. Stopped gaming from 2012 till 2023. At the end of 2023 I started playing D2 because of my neighbour, so quite a newbie compared to a lot of you. But I got hooked. Love the mechanics, complexity and challenges to figure out the game. I bought the shadowkeep, forsaken, 30th b-day anniversary, the witch queen and beyond light. When the final shape was released I bought it with the annual pass. I spend for around $200 total which is a lot imo for a game, but I enjoyed it a lot.
Then I stopped playing for a good half year and came back about a month ago. I was very surprised how much content has been taken out. It is stuff I payed for. There are weapons that time I didn't like eq fusion/lineair fusion rifles. But only because I didn't understand the use for it as I am used to normal fps shooters. One of my favorites atm is doomed petitioner. I was looking how to get it because the perks are not great on the one I have. Surprisingly I found out the content where you could get the doomed petitioner is gone. I searched longer and was checking the destinations and figured out how much content is vaulted. Isn't that stealing content I bought? What about you buy a car and after a year the car dealer is coming to take off your wheels.... Just a comparison, but you understand.
I didn't buy the seasonal pass because imo I paid enough for a game that is free to play as well. I am also surprised the dungeons are not included. I still enjoy the game but I feel ripped off because of all the content I loved to play from the past is just gone.
Bungie get a grip. Don't take away content people payed for or start refunding money, open dungeons and seasonal activities in return for all the lost content we payed for!

Bungie isn't legally required to refund neither are companies like Epic, EA, Activision etc who all use a similar system. Pretty much every game tells and warns that season passes are only there till the next. Also the game engine can't support the amount of content. It already struggles with what is currently in the game. As for updating the engine it probably wouldn't be worth it since the engine itself is over 20 years old (Modified engine used in CE) and every time they update it even big changes like the Beyond light one it doesn't give the engine the ability to host as much content as has been removed. This means they'd likely need a new engine and to do that would take like 5 years to transfer what is in the game (Not including what's already removed) to the new engine. And Idk if the game could even be kept online during that time and there could be issues like data loss.

Bungies only focus is money, a lesson well learned. They tell you what you want to hear & stop caring once they have your money. I'll prove it. Before edge of fate releases on July 16th, maybe 2-3 weeks earlier sone gaming news outlets will start reporting on bungie suing cheat makers for millions of dollars (they always win, & the company just liquidate so they never pay). All streamers will get 'a player you reported has been banned' insane message on the Friday trials launch days in the build up to reinforce the smoke & mirrors they use. It's marketing, on the cheap. Community managers will start asking on twitter & Reddit what are your main requests for the new dlc, main issues etc. it'll all be totally ignored once they have your money. THEY.DONT.CARE.

You paid for access to the game. You got access to the game. You just have a misunderstanding of what you spent your money on. The car comparison doesn't map on at all.

Your whole car analogy tells me that you didn't read the EULA. Because the situations aren't really comparable, but again, you'd know that if you'd read.

Surprisingly I found out the content where you could get the doomed petitioner is gone.[/quote] You can get copies of the weapon from Starcrossed while its the weekly featured exotic mission, its also craftable so once you get enough patterns (5) you can simply pick the traits you want.

Edited by Noodle: 5/5/2025 2:39:00 PMIn the TOS for the game, it states that content may be subject to change. You agreed to this. It’s not stealing at all. Let me better your example: Imagine you buy a car, and the car dealership states that they COULD come and take your tires if you agree to their terms and go through with buying the car. Don’t be surprised if they do, they told you they could.
