Start by telling people that you dont use Discord, like at all. This has worked for me pretty well. The typical clan recruitment these days is less focused on completing in-game activities together, and more about forcing people into some mandatory virtual friendship where everyone is “connected” 24/7 & intrudes on each other’s actual irl lives. Definitely dont tell anyone if you’re any good at the game, or if you have any experience or expertise to offer, they only care whether you’re perpetually connected to the server, showing your obligatory approval, likes, & lol’s at all their constant cries for attention.
