Cross Save Locked – Lost Access to Linked PlayStation Account
Hello,
I’m writing to request help regarding a Cross Save issue tied to my Bungie.net account. I currently have my Xbox account authenticated under and active username. However, my old PlayStation account is still linked to my Bungie.net account, and I no longer have access to that PlayStation account or the ability to authenticate it.
Because of this, I am unable to disable Cross Save or unlink the inactive PlayStation account in order to connect my new PlayStation profile and continue playing Destiny 2 on that platform.
I understand Bungie has strict account recovery and linking policies, and I respect that. I’m simply asking for assistance or any alternative steps I can take to either:
1. Remove the inactive PlayStation account,
2. Relink my new PlayStation account, or
3. Transfer my progress and Xbox data to a new Bungie account if necessary.
I can verify ownership of my Xbox account and any additional information needed to confirm my identity as the account holder.

7 RepliesHello there[url=https://tuxydoh.com/images/hi.gif],[/url] A couple things, first you do not have cross save activated on the account you are posting on. Second, as of March 25 of this year, platform accounts are not able to be unlinked from your Bungie.net profile. Account progress is permanently bound to the platform account that was used to create it, there is no way to transfer your data to a different xbox (or any other) account. It is recommended that you work with PlayStation support to regain access to the PSN that is linked on the account.

Hi there! It is no longer possible to remove any platform accounts, as of March 25th. For more information regarding this change, please see the below article. https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/35597981889300-Notice-Bungie-net-Account-Unlinking-Update-on-March-25-2025 However, even before this policy was put into place, in order to remove any account from any profile, you must be able to authenticate the account. Bungie could not remove any account from any profile for any reason, as this would be considered unauthorized.

As of March 25th, all account linkage became permanent. Prior to the change Bungie themselves would not unlink the account as it has to be done by the user. The only way you're going to be able to access your data on PS will be for Sony to give you back the already linked account. Bungie are not granting any exceptions and they do not offer a service that transfers progression to a new account.
