The Drifter, the haul, and the Unknown planet (potential spoilers discussed)
After submitting the final solution to the chess puzzle and reaping the rewards, you also gain a cutscene.
I couldn't help but notice that in the cutscene, the lighting on the haul was updated and seems to match the lighting of the mysterious planet shown in the cutscene.
The haul even seemed to share a color palette with the mysterious planet as well, with hints of white and maroon, similar to Nessus.
It got me thinking, what if the Haul was actually the core or a piece of the unknown planet. Specifically, the missing piece shown in the trailer.
Not to mention the exotic ship you gain from solving the puzzle, has a lore tab that specifically talks about the haul and the strange readings the Drifter gets from it.
Makes me wonder if the friendly 9 stole this piece of the unknown planet and gave it to the Drifter, so the renegade member couldn't fulfill their plan.

Yeah with the Haul it was always a question of where it came from. It’s shaped roundish, like a molten core pulled from the center and flash cooled. But when it was introduced there weren’t and missing planets or allusions to extra solar planetary bodies as candidates. Did they make it? Was it a destroyed planets core? Something that drifted in system from somewhere else? So there was never much to work with sadly. Maybe they’ll use Nibiru? lol
