Community Puzzle - Aion Archives

The recent developments in the ARG have revealed a code for a new emblem in-game: Secret Signal Emblem Code: JGN-PX4-DFN The ARG is not finished yet, since they haven't found the answer to the puzzle in-game, so the Emblem is just a bonus. ------------------------------------- The community has unlocked the next step in the puzzle, leading to the Aion Archives site: https://www.aion-archives.net/ For additional context, Aion popped up as "the Aion Initiative" in the "Vesper's Host" Dungeon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWsPJk7IoMQ For those interested in what to do next, here's a link to a Reddit page with info on what to do: https://www.reddit.com/r/raidsecrets/comments/1kbbilz/qr_code_has_been_cracked/ Here's what the About Us command says about AION: "The Apollo Intertemporal Observation Netw0x#827#50?ork notes and logs data on time dilation and other anomalies across the visible universe, separating the chaff of normal light-speed travel time from other more seri0x17668=02ous mismatches. This is slow but meticulous work, requir0x#?684702ing extreme patience and sharp observation. Successful employees are expected to be willing to check the same work many times over, and perf0x328#4206orm the same experiments in excess of hundreds of times. There is a place where the numbers do not match. We have seen it. We will see it." Codename Apollo, check. It looks like Edge of Fate will be dealing with temporal anomalies on the mystery planet from the teaser, and the Aion Initiative was created to hunt for temporal anomalies that don't match the expected numbers. Other than what has already been uncovered, I don't know what else will be found through the AION Archives site. The answer to the actual board puzzle in-game is likely buried somewhere in here since it is likely my initial guess about how the answer would be found is incorrect.     Progress has been made. I don't know how they figured it out yet (I can't find an explanation), but I can tell you where to put pieces to light up torches in the area: Pawn at D5; Knight at D4, and Bishop at E5. Place those on the board, "Offer Your Answer", and those pieces will stay on the board. Finding all the pieces is just the start.[/quote] It turns out that doing that turns each area into a chessboard. The Byrne-Fischer code provided the hint. Three of the four scenarios had one piece you could "Take" to create a Checkmate scenario, but not all boards will have a solution. There is one piece you can "Take" that will result in a checkmate on the board, and the piece that is "Taken" becomes representative of that space on the board in-game. They started at the center, 2x2. Now, they're doing it 4x4, then it will be 6x6, and finally 8x8. That is the solution to the puzzle, if I understand it correctly.
