To start, I understand you gain bonus progress in Heresy activities, but I just did a GM nightfall which had about 10 Banes spawn. Of which I killed at least 6, but I gained only 3% progress.
Given banes only spawn in harder content, and only about 10-12 spawn per run, your in for a hefty grind. Even of the bonus progress is 2x, that's still at least 10 master runs of the nether or court. That's not even considering if you fail, or if it even counts teammate kills as progress for you.

Load into the expert nightfall this week and go to the public area and travel to a lost sector

Edited by Forge: 5/2/2025 12:40:28 AMSolo'ed an expert Nether. Encountered ONE bane the entire run, worth a whole 2%. This kind of challenge is not thought out by the dev team that came up with it, and it does not respect the player's time. The rng of encountering a bane during a nightfall, or expert nether, leaves way too much room to fail getting one to grace our screens. This basically forces the players to do the expert court of blades intro area where there is one guaranteed bane, and for the sake of time and effort, a player would be better off running that 50 times than trying to get the challenge done through playing the other events where banes may, or may not appear.

I don't think I've encountered a single Bane enemy this Season, where even are they?
-
Yeah i saw that "challenge" and said nooooope not going to bother, they are asking for way too many Bane kills
-
And what does this challenge reward? The best exotic in the game? Yes it’s a stupid challenge, but don’t play into Bungie’s hand, don’t do the challenge. Screw them and their pointless grind.

At this point, Bungie needs to either make Seasonal Challenges retroactive, or stop overestimating how much time we're willing to put into activities. We're thirteen weeks into the Season, nobody feels like getting 100-200 Bane kills at this time. Especially since we've already ran those activities plenty of times for other reasons, we're sick of them. Calling it now, instead of adjusting the requirement, Bungie is just going to auto complete it. Which if I'm mistaken, would make this the third challenge this Season Bungie auto completed.

It's the current grind mantra. Check the last few weeks. Gambit games 0%, wins grant 3%, losses 2%, wins were you bank most motes & most damage give 4-5%. Even if you're drifter himself that's 20 ganes Then we had 25 super kills in clash which for the average guy that's maybe 20 ganes Now this banes nonsense, & the conp one is just as bad I believe. These are meant to be relatively simple to keep everyone ticking over with a long term goal to get 4k dust. Instead it's full of expert this, trials this, GM this, flawless this, & basic rubbish like 1000 machine gun kills in strikes & 500 linear kills in nether. I've done almost everything so far but I'm bothering anymore, 4k isnt even close to worth it. They're actually trying to kill the playerbase via boredom & push the casuals to marathon.

It’s honestly not worth the bright dust

Edited by Monkey: 4/30/2025 6:17:24 AMIts funny how we get a stupid seasonal challenge like this, and all of a sudden, you see fewer bane than before 2% per kill is stupid and an extra 4% if 2 other ads are also affected..but of course, we get nothing but the stasis bane and the hypernova nonstop now l would say the best way and annoying way is to load up the expert court and kill the bane at the start, just keep doing that

Edited by GrumpyTitan: 4/30/2025 6:32:29 AMIt’s yet again another tedious challenge to increase play time. I just loaded CoB on expert 50 times and killed the one bane in the beginning. 50 times since each bane gives 2% in CoB
-
Its a long term goal and typically not something done in an afternoon of gaming but, you could. 3% per run.. get grinding those 33 runs. Most people are likely close to completing if they have been playing all season. If you havn't been playing the seasonal content you will be behind and need to put on those grinding pants to catch up.
