I think I'll have the best answer for you here. I AM a destiny raid sherpa. With hundreds of players taught by me and my team, who also once learned from me. Yes, the best way for a new, returning, or solo player to learn a raid (or multiple raids) is to seek a sherpa or at least someone willing to TEACH the raid. We were doing 15 DSC raids in a day back during beyond light and I've done almost 300 of that raid alone, with nearly 90 sherpa runs. We have groups that are readily available, patient, and willing to talk you through what's happening and why. Find a sherpa and they'll be happy to teach you.
