Ideas for Destiny 3

> I know forsaken just came out, and Destiny 2 is still expected to have multiple content updates before Destiny 3 is even considered, but I want to get ahead of the game. Below are some ideas I had for Destiny 3. • Light level is no longer used as a power standard rather gear quality determines how strong the player is. This would mean that everybody starts with the same common gear, and the better the quality the more effective the item is. Common items would have no perks, uncommon items would have one or two perks, rare items would have multiple perks, and legendary items would have multiple good perks. • Each set of gear would work similar to how the D2 anniversary gear worked. Each vendor could sell a standard common set of gear that could be bought using glimmer, then the gear could be upgraded through each item tier. The Vanguard would sell one set of Vanguard gear that could be upgraded through PvE related steps, such as killing a set number of enemies, and after each upgrade the gear would change appearance. If this would be done, then each vendor would only have to sell one set of gear per class, and each set could be used cosmetically up to four times, just like the D2 anniversary gear, and each set of gear could be reverted to previous versions once legendary status is obtained. • Each vendor sells a gun/ piece of armor that would be common, and could be upgraded through each weapon tier until exotic. These weapons would have a quest to follow, that would lay out the story of the exotic item, and would end once the item is exotic. Non-quest exotics could be old items, that would be found through exotic engrams. • All items could be earned by completing challenges set by the vendor, and once obtained would be stored, with a static set of perks, in the collections tab. However, ranking up with any given vendor would allow access to an engram, which would drop random gear with random rolls. • The story of D3 would be used to introduce the game, and would be nothing more then a basic “kill bad guy” plot. Adventures would only serve to be side stories. Strikes could each have their own set of gear, that would drop at common rarity, and have to be upgraded to legendary status. Raid gear would drop at legendary rarity, and would have raid orientated perks. All interesting story aspects would be left to a Lore tab. • Naturally the following would return: Lore tabs, Quest tabs, Collections tabs, Triumphs, Random perks (on engram gear), Heroic PvE content, PvE modifies, The option to choose specific PvP game modes, Privet matches, Shaders being how they were in D1, and Edge Transit. • Cosmetic items could have ways of being earned in-game. Ships could be linked to challenges or quests. Emotes and shaders could have quests related to Eververse. Each vendor would sell one emblem, and different looks for the emblems could be earned through gameplay similar to how the PvP/ Forsaken emblem works. • Character creation could be changed so that more resources could go into armor customization by removing the race and gender option. No this is not a PC police cry, rather, by having a unitary character model with the only change being armor, then the time that it would take to add new facial and racial customizations could be put into armor instead, by not having to deal with Exo, Human, Awoken, Male, and Female customization options. > If anybody has anymore ideas please post below, so this can be seen by the community managers. Hopefully we can be heard before development of D3 gets to far underway, and we can’t get our two cents in. I’m hoping to see D3 take the best of D1 & D2, and put it all together to give us the best possible game we can get. I’ve been following this franchise, and Bungie, for a while. I’d like to get a real taste of what the best Bungie has to offer us, and D3 is just far enough ahead to begin setting the foundations for that.
