a game like this isn't supposed to have a finish line.. it is a perpetual living world not statice. This isn't 1987 with a game that lasts 50 hours of linear play and then credits at the end when you are done.

It isn’t supposed to, but it does. Every game has a finish line when you’ve done everything and it gets dull.

Boredom is the finish line after you’ve done everything the game has offered. You can still do activities, but if they’re boring then there is no real incentive to do them. You would’ve finished everything and gone through everything. Therefore, finishing the game. Unless updates come you’ve finished it once you’re bored of doing everything that you’ve already done.
