Why I cringe when I see "Shores of Time" during Control

Because I know that someone on my team will go take Zone A and flip our spawn. EVERY -blam!-ING TIME. Even when we control both B and C, they will go take A. And if the enemy starts taking C, causing the spawn to flip, the randoms won't do the smart thing and go fight to take it back. Hell no. Too much work. They'll go over to the unoccupied and undefended Zone A and proudly take it. Sometimes they'll dance, the morons. It never occurs to them that there's a REASON it's undefended: the other team is BEGGING YOU to go take it. WILL YOU FOR THE LOVE OF CRAP STOP DOING THIS. A Control match on Shores of Time, between 2 teams that both know what they're doing, will revolve around taking zones B and C. The only time ANYONE will take A is when Bravo takes it as their first zone. After that, there is NO reason whatsoever to ever see any announcement regarding Zone A. NONE. WHATSOEVER. I don't care if you lost all your zones; go take B or C. DON'T take A. It just makes things worse. [b] STOP IT. JUST STOP. DON'[T TAKE ZONE A.[/b] My name is Dog of War and I approved this message.

  • "But its just a spawn flip" Yes. But it's also a spawn flip that gives the enemy team the better side on probably the most unbalanced map in the game. Capping A is literally saying you don't want to win the match.

    • I had the best game on shores of time last IB. Spawned C side and instead of the usual spawn flipping, my team and I just locked down C and B. No one went negative and we won 20000 to 10000. It will never happen again.

        • I at least like to solo disable zone a so the enemy get even less points. Why not gain double the point advantage?

            I wonder what the win% is for teams that capped and held A on that map....bet it's 25% or less. IMO, if they moved C, they could fix that damn map...

            • Zone A on SoT is pretty much the easiest zone to camp, since there's only 3 possible entrances. If you and one or two others set up shop there you *could* theoretically hold it for the entire match. Besides, if you spawn there anyway what exactly is the problem?

                • I only cap A if the other team has B & C, with the plan of taking B and forcing them to decide to either fight us over C or take A themselves.

                  • I love that map. At the start of the game and we're on the A side, I usually capture A and work my way towards C while watching for snipers at the back of the map. When I clear them out I just post up by the ladder and just wreck people up

                  • Its all about adapting to the situation at hand. Teamwork is key in Control. You may find that certain teams will either cluster to one zone, or completely forget about the objective and play like its a Clash match. If your paired up with teams that constantly do this then victory is hareder to obtain. You have to switch up your strategy when things get rough, but dont hesitate to seek out the next enemy on your way to the next zones as kills or even assists are still valuble points. Teamwork is key as I said because you cant really do as well in Control with a team of lone wolves as you would in Clash maybe.

                      • Yeah just stop. If the enemy is camping c and b and your team of randoms can't secure b or c within a reasonable time frame then you better take a and give them something to worry about.
