Thorn is op or not
Edit: I made a normal poll to see opinion of community. Totally forgot about how many 12 year old salty turds exist here. Without reading anything, they are telling me go to year 1 and other crap.
I am year 1. I have 2300+ hours in game. Have 7000 kills with thorn in year 1.
All of you turds who are telling me how it was op, this poll is not saying what was op year 1 or year 2.
Compare thorn in year 2 with other exotic weapons like red death, suros, boolean gemini.
Why I think thorn is op.
3 shot body shot with fastest fire rate hand cannon. Which usually is 4-5
Tracks enemy.
Stop recovery for 7 effing seconds
All of you who are telling me you can counter it, for sure you can counter it. Problem is, most probably it will still kill you if other person is even half decent.
Please post your honest opinion. Now by honest I mean honest.
If you use it and like it, it's good but that won't change the fact that it's not op.

OP? No Annoying? yes Having that green stuff of your screen for like 5 seconds and being almost completely engaged from a fight for over 10 seconds can get annoying but it's not an OP gun

I would describe it as annoying rather than OP solely because it stops recovery for so long that you lose momentum. You can out-gun the Thorn user but then while you're low, some janitor comes and cleans you up.

Nothing is "OP" its just everyone uses the current meta and when they try to use something else that can't so the meta becomes "OP" which leads to a nerf straight to the ground

I never used thorn, but it was annoying when it two shot me. I hope it doesn't come to year two, but I don't want anymore year one weapons. I want them to focus on new ones.

It's not as overpowered as it was in year 1. But it's still rather uncontested. There is a reason that all sweaty matches and tournament players were using thorn.

7 RepliesIt isn't even close to its buffed status from year one. The DoT alone was 7 a tick and if you were hit multiple times you looked like pez dispenser spitting out DoT. That being said leave it alone it is much more balanced now. On a side note, I predicted a mild nuclear explosion on this forum over the thorn when it was announced that CD would not be level enabled. And I was not disappointed.

Personally its not that much of a big deal. Sure its an easy weapon to use, but there are other guns which can kill faster with some practice. Not the hardest to counter imo, as it lacks stability at range. I mean, if I can out gun Thorns with The First Curse, what cant?

Not op, just annoying to play against. Out and out the best gun in the game for pvp, that burn is incredibly strong for any game mode

Think of it this way, Thorn is exactly what an exotic weapon should be like.....exotic. too many so called exotics, in my eyes over 80% , have better legendary counterparts that are better to use. Good example is hawkmoon, it should be a bad assed exotic yet, eysaluna is just as good if not better in mu opinion. Quit with all the damn nerf this nerf that. Eventually the greens will be the best weapons to use if this crap keeps up.

thorn with warlock radiance throwing firebolts.. unless its a big map you can't get away.. the small maps you just get melted with both... thorn and firebolt need a nerf

Becomes a little more powerful with the MotD, since DoT keeps shields from regenerating.
