Yes, a joke... but at who's expense? We're supposed to laugh at the fact that he went to his boss with our complaint and they had a good laugh about it? His joke was the equivalent of him saying "I spoke with my boss about the (air quote) 'weapon parts shortage' you guys are complaining about." It was just sarcastic and misplaced. Like making fun of someone behind their back and then letting them in on the joke expecting them to laugh with you.
