Treasures of the Lost are not cosmetic only
Pay-to-win has come to "Destiny". As part of the Festival of the Lost, players can use silver to purchase Treasures of the Lost. This random package could include items that speed up weapons upgrades and glimmer farming. So, remember when Bungie said silver would only be used for cosmetic items? Well, they aren't.
Micro-transactions are a slippery slope. The community needs to keep Bungie from going down that slope. Make your voices hear. Raise a ruckus. Let the Bungie faithful assail your revulsion of micro-transactions and pay-to-win. Let them see your resolve. Until Bungie relents and goes back to making "Destiny" the game it should be, we hold the line.

These aren't cosmetic items only. They include consumables.
Edit: Keep responding. "STFO, "Never go full . . .", "You're an idot". It's all there already. Every reply bumps this post and keeps the pressure on Bungie to avoid going pay-to-win. And yes, I know some Guardians would love it if "Destiny" went pay-to-win and they could just buy a Gjallarhorn 3.0, but that's not the game I bought.

Yes because why would we expect any developer company in the industry which is a business, like the ones behind PayDay 2, to make money through microtransactions in an age where gamers traded their old games to a gaming store who makes double the money. A 60 dollar game doesnt carry the same worth and is not enough to sustain payroll, equipment, a healthy team, and studio. They got families like some of us.

They never said cosmetic items only! They only said that it wouldn't be anything REQUIRED to progress. As in these things are optional and not necessary to progress in the game.

4 RepliesSomething that gives you extra glimmer from certain enemies or something that increases could for primary weapons ALREADY EXIST So it is not a pay to win, because these items are still obtainable within the game. And it is quite easy to get them I do not know bungie a reason for giving us these consumables, but I don't really care either

Damn you mean I could have purchased a weapon telemetry and glimmer consumables such as black wax, ether seeds, and such with real money instead of just playing the game and either buying it from the gunsmith or just having them drop for me in game? Boy have I been a fool

Considering there are versions of these items that drop from any enemy in the game, I'm more inclined to believe they just wanted to give the Guardians candy and settled on this being how it's relevant to the game. I won't disagree with you, much more involvement like this will give Silver an advantage over standard players but as of right now everything is purely aesthetic.

They include reskins of consumables we can easily get and you can easily get every mask without paying. It's not P2W.

Yes but you can get them if you don't pay. I also have never been killed because someone had more glimmer than me or they spent 5 motes of light less upgrading their gear.
