Crucible is a part of Destiny, but the point of game like this is freedom to play how you want too. Forcing players to take part in something they have no interest in is an annoyance.

They force you to play the raids for gear even if you don't like raids. Should there be alternate ways to get stuff like vex or malice?

Definately. Look at Shaxxs crucible quest chain. That's the equivalent of a nightfall reward. I'm sure there could be a way for non pve players to obtain certain gear.
