Back to the discussion. The only reason I could think of for needing a legacy weapon is the same reason as for needing TLW the chaperone... grind. That's what Bungie is good at.
Still requires grind for getting Last Word, but my point was that since you use it in the Crucible for the bounty you don't need the Yr 2 version of it. I would not put it past them for needing the Last Word even if it didn't have a Yr 2 version.
