There is a series of bright flashes in the sky, followed by a rumbling explosion. A small, round, fiery object descends behind the mountains, where another detonation is heard.

A plume of smoke rises from the crash site.

"...Might as well check it out." *he makes his way down the mountain towards the crash*

As he makes his way down the mountain, secondary explosions start up, probably ammunition cooking off. As he reaches the deep crater, a ball-shaped, dual-winged star fighter comes into view.

*he approaches closely, and slows, being wary of his surroundings* *his voice is masked by some device, making it sound almost robotic* "Hello? Any survivors?!?"

A single man, clad in a black flight suit, climbs from the wreckage, facing away from you. He seems to be talking hurried into a radio built into his helmet. [i]Hello? Imperial command? Is there anyone on this channel? Hello?[/i]

"HEY! Your ship seems a bit volatile! Sure you don't want to stand back?"

He turns around. [i]What?![/i] The ship behind him explodes, throwing him forward onto his face.

*he runs forward and grabs his arm, lifting him back to his feet* "You okay?"

The man brushes himself off. [i]I'm ok. What planet is this?[/i]

"Mars, I believe."

The man hits his helmet with the palm of his hand. [i]Great. A desert planet. At least it's not Tatooine.[/i]

"It's not all desert, since the Terraforming, but it surely has its fair share. Anyway, what happened? How'd you end up here?"

[i]Mechanical failure. These darned TIE/d's always break down.[/i]

"Where were you headed?"

[i]I was on a recon flight. Nothing major.[/i]

"There are a few Mercs holed up in a crashed carrier on the other side of that mountain of you want to join them."

[i]Gotcha. Thanks for the help.[/i] He shoulders a small survival pack and sets off.

"I've been tailing them for a bit, and it seems they're a bit wary near strangers. Watch yourself man." *the figure seems to be gone the next time you glance over your shoulder*
