You Earned Your Gjallarhorn
You waited.
You put tons of hours into the game or maybe you've just started.
You earned your Motes and Coins and still played for the coveted Gjallarhorn.
You put in as much time as so many others (or more in many cases) who already had it.
You rock.
Whether you got it in a drop, purchased it way back, or grabbed yours today, you god damn earned that weapon. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise you fantastic mess (yes, I'm talking to those of you who are crying).
Couple things to note though:
- Don't give people you don't know or trust access to your account to buy Gjallarhorn;
- It's properly pronounced "yallarhorn" but that won't change much (I had to say it though);
- Seriously, keep your private information to yourself, please;
- When you breakdown in tears, try not crying on your hardware. Water damage is a pain.

I've heard that the Wolfpack Rounds are actually fuelled by the tears of those who have opened the Exotic chests and gotten materials.
Edit 2: Please play nice and be respectful to each other. No matter what, you earned your Gjallarhorn and anything else you got. No need to attack the other side. We're all Guardians here.

However this is typical manipulation by Bungie, which is being done to hype the game leading up to TTK, don't be a sucker. It's obvious they could have sold this weapon at any time in the past, but it wasn't on Xur's loot table, which was their choice. It clearly shows how bogus their justification for nerfing this weapon truly is. If they actually cared about people being excluded from endgame content this weapon would have been sold to the masses a long time ago.

1 ReplyPersonally, I was very happy for the opportunity to truly earn a Gjallarhorn after all this time. The two I had before today came from random drops. You know, lottery bullshit, not "earned" by any stretch of the imagination. The one I purchased today was very much earned. I received payment (strange coins) for services rendered (weekly heroic strikes, etc.) and used my pay to buy goods (Gjallarhorn) from a merchant (Xur). Commerce FTW! If we're going to start disrespecting free enterprise, as the people lamenting today's events are doing, then THE TERRORISTS HAVE WON! So the question for those raging out over Xur selling Gjallarhorn today is: WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA?

5 RepliesSorry, but the guy who has less than 100 hours in game and doesn't even have a level 34 character does not deserve a Gjallarhorn. But the guy that has played 800+ hours and does nightfalls and raids weekly does, I'll give you that.

I keep seeing people post about how players with less time in the game don't deserve their weapons. Do you people honestly think just because you spend more of your day on destiny than other players, that it gives you some sort of entitlement to content that's available for all players anyway? Not everyone can pour all of their free time into this game.

Opra got a hold of Destiny today it seems. No joke though, I'm actually glad he sold it. Everyone now gets to use it before the nerf. I don't care that I "earned" mine. If someone buys it, it's the same weapon, and it'll free up space for me to use a different exotic weapon in Raids or Strikes. Happy Gally Day :)

People want xur to sell Gjallarhorn, he sells it, people complain. And people who are quitting just because xur is selling gjally are just bein immature about it.
