So Bungie just told us..
That the day The Taken King releases.
All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless.
All that ascending for nothing.

Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats.
Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats.
Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats.
I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES.
Everything will continue to be the same.
Yes "move on" to "better weapons".
All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up.
Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE.[/b]
Edit: Yes this is my first MMO.
Yes I love the weapons I am currently using.
Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible.
Yes I will complain when things piss me off.

I really couldn't care less about the genre.
Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you.
I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out.
Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is.
"They said wait" they shouldn't have to.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions.
They shouldn't let misinformation be released.
Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer.
Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

they give us the ability to upgrade weapons then take it away. Just sort out the vault space and let us keep upgrading. They are actively discouraging us from grinding for stuff now

Complaining is good for healthy game production, but it think you are wrong although I respect your opinion. I disrespect your "fact" however. Those weapons won't be useless. They will still put out the same damage and have the same perks, new weapons will just have more of both.

You can figure out what you want to keep or let go as you find the new stuff. People still use the Fatebringer, it's not a 365 weapon and it's not useless in game. This game is about the grind for better gear, the next stage of the game is coming out. Get ready to grind for better gear. I don't see the problem.

10 RepliesIt wasn't for nothing. The community asked to bring the old weapons with them into House of Wolves and Bungie let us. Personally, I'm okay if the old weapons get left behind. I love Fatebringer and Gjallarhorn as much as the next person, but I don't want to use them for ten years. I want to try the new weapons and leaving the old ones behind makes that easier.

Welcome to mmo gaming. New content means new toys. Generally devs are smart enough to only antiquate 1 or 2 pieces of gear per update but bungies new to all this

A moment of silcene for the Vault of Glass and Crota's End raids. They're now dead. In other news, I'm totally thrilled I didn't spend much time grinding the incredibly boring PoE for that Etheric Light that was oh so important....

Well for the most part the raid guns were better than vanilla guns the how guns were so so but you reroll them so that makes them better

It's not going to be useless. It's going to still be usable, but with a slightly lower attack value. You can still use year one weapons on year one content, and it'll be just as good as before. But the new stuff will be better, and this is how the game advances.

It's a new system. Weapons and armor won't be ascended if they are just reclassed by rarity. With exp and perks becoming the main factors.
