So Bungie just told us..
That the day The Taken King releases.
All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless.
All that ascending for nothing.
Thanks Bungie. I'm cancelling my pre-order.

[b]We're getting remodelled weapons with different names and colours.
Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats.
Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats.
Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats.
I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES.
Everything will continue to be the same.
Yes "move on" to "better weapons".
All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up.
Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE.[/b]
Edit: Yes this is my first MMO.
Yes I love the weapons I am currently using.
Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible.
Yes I will complain when things piss me off.

I really couldn't care less about the genre.
Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you.
I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out.
Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is.
"They said wait" they shouldn't have to.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions.
They shouldn't let misinformation be released.
Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer.
Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

I don't think they said it would be useless, just that it won't be as powerful. They said the same thing for the dark below and all the pre DLC weapons were still good just a little weaker.

I have zero faith in Bungie to create weapons better than the old ones. Nerf everything and give weapons useless perks (shank burn) to add artificial difficulty. For every perk they buff, it feels like they nerf 5 more, it seems like the plan is to keep everything 'fresh', with little to no consistency apart from the grind.

This is how games like this work. Even though at heart this game isn't an mmo it has mmo like elements. All games with these elements do this every update or dlc to keep the game fresh and fun to keep grinding out. You should have seen this coming. World of Warcraft does this every dlc and it's the most popular mmo of all time

7 RepliesNO... NO.. NO.. Bungie has not said that our Year One gear will be useless the day Taken King is released. What has been conveyed SO FAR is that Year One gear WILL NOT progress in power.. There is still a good deal of information that has yet to be released or published, so before you pull a knee-jerk reaction, wait until we know more of the transition from the Base game /TDB DLC /HoW DLC into TTK. Heck - even Cozmo has posted a few replies telling people to hold off dismantling any of our gear until we hear more from Bungie.. It's a good thing, people will cry, but they will either get over it or quit. Ascending should have never been made in the first place, in my opinion. It's a good thing, not a bad one, do you really want to use the same weapons you've been using for months for another couple years? I don't, I'm ready for a change. Stop crying to Bungie, they don't give a sh*t. MMOs and most other games that aren't MMOs do this when expansions come out, your tears are delicious.

This is what you get out off the info dump from game informer. Who the -blam!- really cares. They are doing so much in this DLC it is basically a new game. Hell it is, we're currently playing the beta.
