I think Bungie is trying to make the old guns so bad that the new guns will seem really good. Honestly there isn't a single HoW weapon worth using other than Queenbreakers Bow and that gun can easily be replaced. They need people to keep grinding and stay interested. People won't do that if there isn't anything to play for.
