no one in Kabr's fireteam made it past templar which is why Kabr made the relics so that all guardians no matter which class actually stood a chance

I dont know but the grimoire says that the Templars sheild was impenetrable and that Kabr made the Aegis so other guardians stood a chance

This is true. This is one of the mysteries. We don't know how he beat him because he had to. But that was the reason he created it.
