Just got A REALLY GOOD Hand Cannon- From a RARE Engram!
So I was in the tower a couple of minutes ago to turn in some night bounties. I go to Cryptarch because I had picked up a rare primary engram. I decide to quickly decode it and dismantle for the parts. To my surprise, RNG gives me a VENATION III with the following perks
- Outlaw
- Perfect Balance, Single Point Sling, Field Scout
- Crowd Control
I feel like really lucky right now! Thanks RNG for cutting me a break. What perk do you guys recommend? Anyone else get anything get something really good from a rare engram lately?
EDIT: Got rid of "THE BEST" because everybody going on about Hawkmoon. Wish I had one ;(

It's sad that people can't just be happy about someone's good loot and have to be all serious and technical calling hawkmoon the best. I was here when you hadn't edited the title and I thought this was a different post

2 RepliesGot the same HC from a dead orbit rank up. It has outlaw, explosive rounds and grenadier. I would've preferred other perks over grenadier, but it's still a great gun. It's on my hunter

I know Excactly how you feel, excact same happened to me other week, seen this boss looking hand cannon appear, believe it said 'created by superb tech's from Dead Orbit'?, looked awsesome and i really, really wanting good HC, have tried/failed Thorn missive soo many times, anyway, had a full load of bounties to 'cash in' so equiped this and begun levelling, After doing so and looking at progress etc it HIT me (ton of bricks) that max damage was 300! Noo Why? why.. guess i was just too distracted by looks of and perks on it to notice the damage was a pre dlc one, heartbreaking, it surely was, strangely that week i had had a armour piece from pre dlc stats as well, so maybe after the rngGods smiled at last i was glitched outa my reward, or do they still throw in random, useless last level items?, anyway after some thought i decided to dismantle the HC, for the (best bit) grand reward of TWO (no!) Shards! i mean 2 Energy woulda hurt but shards (armour upgrade ones i mean) on top of disapointment and the waste of much xp that was at time needed for another primary i was lvling, think it was about 6 5000's and others were Eris, one day i hope to own HC worthy of equiping, hope it looks as nice as that one as well, so enjoy your good fortune friend, while it lasts, for i fear when House of Wolves arrives were going to be saying goodbye to trusted 'old friends', although they said they did it wrong on Dark Below, will it matter?. will they consider our loved legendaries or just make excotics easilier upgradable. have fun with your HC, just don't use it on me if we meet in IB some day.

I got a venetion III with range finder field scout and crowd control. Crowd control is like a holy grail perk on hcs

I got it from a rare engram too but I dont remember if the perks was that great on mine so I deleted it...

86 RepliesLegendary, non-raid weapons, are shit. I'm tired of people thinking they get good weapons because they have nice rolls. No that shit would still get -blam!-ed up by woc or Fatebringer in pve. And thorn and hawkmoon would wreck it's shit on pvp

nice roll . I personally prefer the same perk but on Timur's lash (higher impact) but i end up using Fatebringer anyway just because of firefly.

3 RepliesI did some checking on this gun against my word of crota and a fatebringer and my completely un-leveled Venation III was doing more damage on critical shots than both those raid guns fully leveled or almost fully leveled. Never realized that gun was so awesome.

3 RepliesNice! I dropped Red Hand not long back. Forgot what the perks were as I haven't used it. Still roll with my Fatebringer. Trying to level up Word of Crota but I'm just not feeling it... same with Thorn. Word of Crota and Thorn just feel a bit flimsy to fire for me, plus I find it hard to spot where the reticle is. Anyone else not a fan of either of these?
